Scientists are saying that the reef will die soon and the biggest threat are the rising sea temperatures. Humans have also brought some big changes and many things that we do on the Reef and the land, threats the Reef's ecosystem.
Reserach shows that toursism doesn't affect the Great Barrier Reef in a bad way, because it is spread over such a lagre sea. It's actually because of the tourism, there is watchdogs, alerting manaement authorities and lot of interests in the health of the Reef. Fishing is also carefully managed. The biggest threats actually come from human activities on land.
I really don't know so much about this, neither do i care, but i do think it's sad that the world's biggest single structure made by living organisms, is threaten because of us.
